“Your first fruit offering is for me and not Church” — Pastor to his members
A pastor has sparked controversy by claiming his church members’ first fruit offering belongs to him, not God.
John Anosike, a South African preacher, has sparked outrage online after informing his congregation that their first fruit giving is for him rather than God.
The preacher leads and founded New World Faith Ministries, which is situated in Cape Town, South Africa.
He was caught telling his church members, numbering over 8000, that their first fruit belongs to him as a vehicle for God’s word to them.
He invites them to thank him with their first fruit of the year, and they will get it in plenty.
Pastor Anosike maintains it is for his personal benefit rather than the church’s, and despite the criticism he may face, he holds firm.
However, many internet users do not agree with his claim and have promptly called him out for it.
