Woman shares how she beat brain tumour, PCOS to become mother
An African American woman named Moshi has shared her inspiring journey to motherhood after doctors told her that her health conditions — a brain tumour and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome — made it nearly impossible.
Moshi, who tweets under the handle #Heymoshimoshii on X (formerly Twitter), revealed that her 2017 diagnosis left her with little hope of ever having children.
Despite the challenges, she recently welcomed her “tiny miracle” and took to social media to celebrate the joyous moment.
On Monday, Moshi shared baby bump photos and expressed gratitude for a blessing she once believed was beyond reach.
“Since 2017, I’ve been told motherhood wouldn’t be possible due to my brain tumour & PCOS. But 8 years later, here we are defying the odds. My tiny miracle, I’m in awe of you. You’re the answer to prayers I thought were unheard & I’m forever grateful to God for this blessing 🤍,” she wrote.
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome is a common hormonal disorder affecting individuals with ovaries, typically during their reproductive years. It is characterised by an imbalance in reproductive hormones, leading to various symptoms and health issues.
PCOS is often associated with elevated levels of male hormones (androgens), and small fluid-filled sacs (cysts) may develop on the ovaries, interfering with the regular release of eggs.
