Veteran Nollywood actor, Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) has given his reasons why he hates being referred to as a “legend”.

During an interview on Curiosity Made Me Ask, the actor disclosed that he sees that title as a “scam”.

According to him, he believes actors like Olu Jacobs, Pete Edochie deserve that title more than him because he is not yet in that category.

He added that anytime he is referred to as a legend, he sees himself as an old man who is looking forward to go on retirement.

“I think all those legend things are a scam. I have my legends like Uncle Olu Jacobs and Uncle Peter; those are our ancestors, our legends,” he said.

“I was still watching him when he was saying Ribena children are healthy children.
“So I don’t subscribe to that. I think it is a scam when they call me a legend because they are trying to relegate me to that neighbourhood of retired people or people who should be nearing retirement. So, no, I don’t subscribe to it.”
