The Ondo state Professionals’ Forum Abuja (OSPFA) has called on the people of the state to support the reelection bid of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to consolidate on his numerous achievements as well as nurture to maturity many ongoing projects that are currently at various teething stages.
The OSPFA comprises selected and committed professionals of Ondo State extraction who have distinguished themselves in their various disciplines while
practicing in Abuja .
A statement issued and signed on Friday by the chairman of the forum, Arc. Tunde Imolehin and his Secretary ,Dele Fulani pointed out that “What is currently going on in Ondo
State under the able leadership of Governor Olurotimi Akeredolu is
unprecedented – it is what has never been witnessed before in the entire rich history of the Sunshine State.
When you talk of infrastructural development, Governor Akeredolu has literarily transformed the hitherto hard-to-reach rural areas of the State into modern cities through construction of state-of-the-art access roads, storm water drains,
overhead bridges, provision of rural electrification, potable water supply among many others.
More so, it is on record that the current administration under the able watch of governor Akeredolu is about the only administration in the country that is not owing a dime in terms of salary, allowances, contract fees or pension despite the economic downturn occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic that has made many
State governors to cut down salary of their workers while many of them still owe backlog of wages.
As we all know from experience that premature change of government in Nigeria is usually characterized with lack of continuity in governance. As it is the practice, instead of continuing with the development trajectory he or she met on ground, every successor would rather crave for his own new 7-point agenda while the predecessor’s projects are either discontinued, abandoned or cancelled outrightly. At the end, it is the innocent taxpayer citizens of the State that bear the brunt.
We cannot allow all these uncommon achievements of the Governor to be
rubbished under the altar of political expediency. As well-informed stakeholders, leaders and breadwinners of substantial figures of the voting population and electorates in Ondo State, our position is that Ondo State needs to consolidate on
the progress so far made now with Governor Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu,SAN, in the saddle.
And this position is made without prejudice and disregard for
rights of other citizens to aspire for any position of their choice in the state.
We hereby call on all sons and daughters of Ondo State both home and abroad to rally round and support the re-election bid of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu in order to consolidate on his numerous achievements and to nurture to maturity his many ongoing projects that are currently at various teething stages.
We as a forum are committed to support this continuity project of his Excellency with our intellect, contacts, clouts, cash and kind, and by the grace of God, we shall prevail. ”
