WHAT THE UK-APC MUST SEEK TO DO GOING FORWARD – Olasumbo Faseesin, Esq (LL.B LL.M)
I am compelled to further encourage and embrace the UK-APC LEADERSHIP on the following principles, that among other things, we must unite to think a better country than seek adulation for self or any Individual, no matter how highly placed.
We must continue to strengthen our institutions and promote sustainable development with the knowledge and exposure we now enjoy as immigrants/migrants and or, Citizens of another country.
Tracing back our origin, we are compelled to only seek humanity and demonstrate loyalty to our country in our priorities, Chief among other things, the welfare and wellbeing of our people, and the country, Nigeria in it entirety. If for any reason we concede to playing politics, we must rely on the moral tenets and tendencies required. We must seek to elevate humanity and transfer acquired skills and potential opportunities to lift up the Citizens of Nigeria and provide, more importantly, an atmosphere for competitive alternatives and advantages. We must not play politics to PRAISE-WORSHIP or, hero-worship any individual like most youths have been subjected to back home. We must seek to clarify and help to demonstrate rectitude in our resilience to forge a new orientation for leadership and followership.
The UK-APC must adhere strictly to ethos and ethical standards within Nigeria should they travel home and be the best of examples to influence the required change. This is not to discriminate against highly moral standards of few individuals whose exceptional conduct outweigh many in Canada UK, US or European travellers. Of course, travelling is a form of Education. Yet, it doesn’t confer superiority on anyone or, that those back home are lesser than many opportunists, irrespective of our sentiments in dichotomy and disparity, suggesting among other things; that for economic independence, Nigeria been a developing state is dependent on the economy of the West and there lies the feeling of superiority. No! No man is more superior than the other. The European Convention on Human Rights frowns against any act of discrimination.
While this would not ensue arguments, I am obliged to admonish the UK-APC to always put the overriding interest of our people in mind in their chase for political relevance. They must always remember that the dream of Luther King Jr. Lives in many genuine advocates and that above all things, only God gives power.
On the basis of the above, I wish to call the attention of Mr. President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to revisit my petition on why Hon. Femi GBAJABIAMILA’S office as the current CoS be immediately REVIEWED. He’s eminently qualified to occupy other offices but not the Chief of Staff and the necessary urgency must be given in this regard. Mr. President, if you read my article dated the 24th of October, 2020 where I wrote and predicted the outcome of your emergence as well as the reasons you were hunted during the ENDSARS DEBACLE that almost destroyed our patrimony in Lagos and for which i titled, “Why Tinubu Became A Target”.This article is in the public domain, and I urge your office to spare time reading a few of the brilliant points for a NATION BUILDING TRAJECTORY THROUGH POSITIVE ESPIONAGE TO ARRIVED AND DELIVER A NIGERIA OF OUR DREAM.
Mr. President, you cannot afford to fail the good people of Nigeria in their dire need for succour and hope.
PLEASE, ADDRESS THE PETITION BEFORE YOUR TABLE AND TAKE DECISIVE ACTION. NIGERIA AWAITS A RENEWED HOPE AGAINST DISSATISFACTION, DISAPPOINTMENT AND GROSS ABUSE OF OPPORTUNITIES IN LEADERSHIP.
AS WE AIM FOR THE BEST, WE MUST DILIGENTLY DO SAME WITH THE NEW CONVERTS ,STRIPPING OFF OLD GARMENTS BUT THINKING A WORKABLE APPROACH TO SALVAGE OUR country.
WE HAVE A COUNTRY TO FIX, AND IT IS NOW OR, NEVER.
THEREFORE, THE APC-UK MUST ABOVE EVERYTHING THINK IN THIS DIRECTION, COMBINING THE ADVANTAGES OF A WORKABLE OUTCOME IN SANER JURISDICTION AND advocating the IMPLEMENTATION of SIMILAR POLICIES AND REGULATIONS GUIDING THE STATE AND HER CITIZENS. Including, showing concerns on people rights and invoking or, awakening the consciousness of our people with respect to AFRICAN COURT ON HUMAN & PEOPLES’ RIGHTS AMONG OTHERS
IT IS NO LONGER TIME TO ADULATE OR, WORSHIP INDIVIDUALS FOR WHATEVER REASON INCLUDING PERSONAL INTERESTS OR, PECUNIARY EXPECTATIONS.
WE MUST INSTEAD ENCOURAGE A SYSTEM THAT WORKS LIKE THE WEST WHERE MOST NIGERIANS HAVE ELOPED IN RECENT TIMES JUST FOR survival BECAUSE OF THE HORRENDOUS HOSTILITY and man’s inhumanity to man BACK HOME. The UK-APC must instead dissipate energy in PROJECTING the Implementation of VARIOUS ARTICLES EMBEDDED IN THE ECHR 1950 AND ENFORCING SAME THROUGH OUR JUDICIARY COULD HELP Guarantee a good life through sincere LEADERSHIP. FOR EXAMPLE: ARTICLE 9,10,11 AND 14 OF THE CONVENTION COULD ENJOY BETTER ADVOCACY FROM THE UK-APC LEADERSHIP AND MEMBERS WHO BENEFIT FROM THESE LAWS. These articles altogether dwell on qualified rights of citizens. Regardless of our exposure, the “UK-APC” has violated Article 14 of ECrtHR embedded in the Human Rights Act as well as the Equality Act 2010 basically, stating, a non-discrimination statute on the grounds of sex, race, national origin, colour, language, political views, religion, birth, property, or other status.
(Please, note the above and apply in subsequent comments: that no discrimination should arise), Fundamentally, “POLITICAL VIEWS SHOULD NOT BE DISCRIMINATED”. ESPECIALLY, THE INDIVIDUAL MAKING THESE VIEWS.
Let us altogether put hands on deck to salvage Nigeria and make our home habitable for all and sundry(e.g enabling environment for business and economic independence) cause no place like home.
It’s no longer time to do primitive politics and paddy- paddy governance in the words of “Abami eda, Fela Anikulapo Kuti”
It is our collective responsility to fix Nigeria and have a fresh but permanent breath.
