We Don’t Have a Concesus Candidate in our Federal constituency – Akoko Reps Aspirant Raise Alarm
The attention of the Victor Ategbole Campaign Council has been drawn to a news item making the round that there is concensus arrangement in Akoko South East/Akoko South West Federal Constituency.
We have the authority of Dr. Victor Ategbole ( Bobagunwa of Okaland) to deny vehemently and distance ourselves from the statement and the purported Concensus arrangement.
It is imperative to note that at no time did our principal was consulted or agreed with anyone whether in the party or those referred to as stakeholders or leaders of the party in Ondo North or anywhere in respect of any concensus arrangement or the abandonment of his quest to represent the good people of our Federal Constituency.
What we know as of a fact which cannot be denied is that we are aware of very sinister and surreptitious fraudulent and undemocratic steps by some people to unfairly favour an aspirant against others particularly our Principal who is considered as the candidate to beat in the election.
We are aware that delegates lists agreed upon at the various wards in the Federal Constituency have been tampered or outrightly manipulated against other aspirants. We are also aware that the list sent from the various Wards in Akoko South East/Akoko South West were doctored inside the confines of the room of one of the aspirants in Akure and the rest been perfected as at about 9.00 pm today Thursday 19th May, 2022 by agents of those bent on fostering this unpopular candidate on our party in our Federal Constituency.
For us we have done our best which we believe will give us victory at the primaries, we are not relying on any godfather as we have all it takes to win the primaries through the delegates. We are convinced that the national leadership of our party, the laws guiding electoral contest in our country have given specific outlines in repect of party primaries.
We are convinced beyond any doubt that the position of Mr Governor to allow a level playing field is still sacrosanct. Those who are relying on powers that be would be disappointed at the end of the day.
We enjoin all our supporters across the Federal Constituency to discountenace all rumors of a concensus candidate in Akoko South East/South West as nothing of such has happened and will not happen.
Those who are deceiving themselves about an imposition through endorsement or a concensus are just wasting their time.
