We are on Course in line with state Government environmental policy to prevent poor Drainage System in Ivo LG – Chairman
In course of following his routine tasks of inspecting the local government area, monitoring and evaluating ongoing projects, arresting anomalies and conforming the regular surveillance of clean environment set by the government of Ebonyi State through the ministry of Environment, aiming to set a good hygienic standards in the atmospheric norms of cleanliness in the state.
The council Chairman of Ivo local government area, Hon. Chief Ajah Emmanual Ogbonnaya (Confirm), has completely frowned at the rate individuals causes environmental haphazard in the society in name of doing business and not minding the concomitant effect aftermath.
This time, a drainage system was despicably blocked in business area at Amaeze, Ishiagu Community extraction of ivo LGA, leaving the environment at the mercy of dirt and unwarranted poor drainage resulting from traffic damage and correctable erosion while the expressway was half block, thereby causing serious traffic along the road.
Intervening, the council chairman ordered the particular defaulters in that business location to fast track the removal of any items causing such blockages and damage of good drainage system in the environment and publicly announced that current administration of the state government cannot condone lapses in environmental haphazard and ivo local government area can never go against the environmental law guiding the state.
Thus, issue note of warning to the general public to desist from letting and dumping of refuse in any location of their choice and causing unhealthy environment against the guiding environmental policy and his administration shall commit to work in accordance to this policy set by the ministry of Environment, Ebonyi State.
