Russia has arrested and detained a suspect for killing a senior general with a car bomb outside Moscow on Friday.

Russia said that Ukraine was behind the blast which killed Gen Yaroslav Moskalik.

Russia’ FSB said it has detained the man, a Ukrainian agent by the name, Ignat Kuzin.

It explained that Kuzin rigged a Volkswagen Golf in the city of Balashikha with a homemade explosive device from a Ukrainian secret service stash in the Moscow area.

The FSB added that the bomb was then detonated remotely from Ukraine.

The agency released a video which shows Kuzin’s arrest taking place on a forest road.

Kyiv has not commented on the blast, which bore the hallmarks of previous attacks on military figures and high-profile backers of the Kremlin’s offensive.

DAILY POST reported on Saturday that a Russian senior military officer, Lt. Gen. Yaroslav Moskalik, was on Friday killed in a car bombing outside of Moscow.
