Viral video : Faseesin Olasumbo calls for strong investigation, Condems propaganda and political machination
Until recently, I have feigned ignorance of the chaotic viral video milling around social media. My friends, across the globe, most of whom are “in the diaspora” and a few who currently live in Nigeria inundated my phone with disgusting & disturbing images of an imposter; acting exactly like Mr. Aiyedatiwa, the Executive Governor of Ondo State and bearing semblance of his conduct. While this, is, untrue and apparently unacceptable, I must crave the indulgence of purveyors to be mindful of Ondo State image. Among community of States, and essentially the continent, all over, Ondo State have enjoyed global recognition. Having said this, it is important we all team up against needless political machinations that could smear or, soil the aged long acknowledgment of our character & conduct as a State reputed for courage, discipline and industry.
We are not only appalled, but worried by this ugly episode that rob off on every indigenous people of Ondo State. We strongly recommend an investigation into this brouhaha. Whilst we differ in principle with Mr.Aiyedatiwa, it is ungodly, wicked and extremely unconscionable to encourage blackmail against the Governor in this manner. Evidently, these sets of teeth will tell obvious difference between Mr. Aiyedatiwa & the man in brawl.
In view of the above, we unanimously condemn this image & viral video circulated to demean, disrepute and obviously disregard the entire State. As a people, Ondo State is peace-loving, decent and respectful. We carry the mien, carriage and courage that characterise a gentleman. We appreciate courtesy and mutual respect. However, we are known to disagree on principles with so much confidence to stampede needless attempts against our being. We are passionate and enthusiastic about the welfare and wellbeing of other people, mostly women. We understand that part of Bible acknowledging their weaknesses. To that extent, no politics is greater than the good people of Ondo State and our collective spirit is awoken to preserve the integrity of our State beyond Mr.Aiyedatiwa who currently suffers the immediate action of mischievous individuals purporting phoney & indecorous politics. No, we must bridle our emotions in the heat of passion and remember the pride of the sunshine State.
Above all, Ondo State is the “res” and nobody, however highly placed will be allowed to destroy our patrimony. If the “res” is destroyed, we shall collectively suffer the implication. Hence the need to encourage patriotism over personal pursuits & political gains. I insist, our collective interests in the preservation of Ondo State must beyond the incumbent Governor increase in proportion, and the degree of concerns for the protection of our pre- existing good image, especially those by our founding fathers must triumph petty politics of bitterness.
This viral video, but untrue reality of events is robing off on the state and must be investigated. Enough is enough, Ondo State is bigger than Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa who’s currently acting in our behalf as the Executive Governor of Ondo State.
We condemn this approach in it entirety.
