Video: ‘Suspended’ RCCG Pastor Idowu Iluyomade starts ‘Family Fellowship’
Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, the suspended pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), City of David Parish, has unveiled a new ministry in Lagos named The Family Fellowship.
In a video that went viral on Monday morning, Iluyomade was seen celebrating with congregants during the inaugural service held on Sunday at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The service was characterised by joyous dancing and jubilant worship.

Announcing the launch on Instagram, Iluyomade extended an invitation to the public to join the fellowship.

He wrote, “The Family Fellowship invites you specially. Join us tomorrow at the Civic Centre for a special time in the Lord’s presence. Promises to be a great experience.”
Iluyomade previously served as the senior pastor of RCCG’s City of David Parish but was suspended in 2024.
The suspension came in the wake of controversy surrounding his wife, Pastor Siju, who hosted an elaborate 60th birthday celebration shortly after the tragic passing of Herbert Wigwe, a prominent church member and former CEO of Access Bank, along with his wife and son in a helicopter crash in the United States.
The timing of the birthday event, which took place just weeks after the Wigwe family tragedy, was widely criticised as being insensitive. Herbert Wigwe had been a key supporter of the church before his untimely death.
In response to the backlash, the RCCG Governing Council convened a panel to address the matter.
By June 2024, both Iluyomade and his wife were suspended for three months and reassigned to worship at the church’s headquarters in Ebute Metta.
Their suspension attracted further attention after they were notably absent from the Wigwe family’s funeral.
