Veekee James faces backlash over Instagram post on relationship standards
Nigerian fashion designer Veekee James has found herself at the centre of online controversy following an Instagram post featuring a heartwarming moment with her husband, Femi.
On Monday, Veekee shared a video of a FaceTime call with her husband, capturing the couple exchanging kisses over the phone. While many of her followers admired the post, the accompanying caption sparked some backlash.
Her caption read: “Pov: This could be you and somebody’s son but you like your men tall and handsome with a perfect set of teeth, 100% financial responsibility impeccable dress sense, very spiritual yet with a touch of bad boyness! Ehyaaa.”
The post generated mixed reactions on social media, with critics accusing Veekee of promoting the idea that women should lower their standards in relationships.
