The Deputy Governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP in Imo state; Godstime Chukwubuikem Samuel noted this when he addressed journalists in Abuja after submitting a 3 page petition to the Chairman of the independent national electoral commission, INEC copied to the President, Director General of state security services and Inspector General of Police on the anti-democracy action of agents of Imo state Government led by Hope Uzodinma.

Godstime in his petition reported how the hired thugs of the Imo state advertisement agency used stickers to deface all campaign insigna at the New Imo 2023 Governorship Campaign office ofbthe NNPP in Owerri.

The Imo state deputy Governorship hopeful noted that the state government through her agents are often times in the business of fomenting troubles capable of breaching peace in the state by intimidating Imolites and opposition parties. And when those intimidated reacts, Imo state Government will sponsor security agents against them with charges of terrorism and its like.

“The Nigerian Constitution is supreme to any state law as INEC and the electoral act has made campaign guidelines clear for all to adhere to. A situation whereby a particular political party uses instrument of government to intimidate opposition parties will be resisted at all cost”, Godstime maintained.
