Distinguished colleagues – With undaunting courage, We have carried out the executive order of Mr Governor and restore peace and progress to RUGIPO.
Since the formation of our council, the Executive order of Mr Governor to our council has been to – “Retool: Reconstruct & Reposition Ondo State Polytechnic, Owo ( RUGIPO) and make it a leading research institute committed to improving the human condition through advanced science and technology.
Today we are moving to the second phase of our mandate — to develop our artisan Centre and produce the workforce for Ondo- State, southwest and NIGERIA as a whole.
When Nigeria was founded, the majority of people had their own businesses, farms, market or trade. People used their skill sets and hobbies to make a living as entrepreneurs. Then the industrial age flipped the ratio and most people became employed by new systems of repetitive labor and mass production. Today we are witnessing d death of that era : Gainful employments are no longer available.
We are returning to where we started as entrepreneurs
MOMENT OF TRUTH:
A lot of jobs that once were, aren’t coming back forever. To look for what isn’t there is a waste of time and an insult to your dignity. If you haven’t noticed, the world has changed — radically. The traditional yellow brick road to success and financial security has imploded.
D corporate structure and monolithic systems of the industrial age have begun to crumble. We are returning to the way we started — as entrepreneurs.
Our message is Stop Looking For a Job, Start Looking For An Opportunity.
Our Artisan Centre represents one such opportunity – our artisan Centre is equipped to deliver training on the following – The duration of the training is between 3 and 6 months at highly subsidized rate in line with the Executive order of Mr Governor

Our committee is expected to work with the political, social and economic leaders of Each of the local government, of Ondo-state to sponsor 50 candidates each— to the Artisan Centre —
At this juncture we call on all our leaders —business and political leaders to bequeath to our youths a very lasting legacy by sending people to our Artisan Centre — each honorable member of our state house of assembly , commissioners , and all political appointees are encouraged to collaborate with us to drive this skill acquisition program and ensure that their local government utilize, their slots . Please assist us to train the future leaders of our state and country. Together we shall bequeath to the incoming generation a well trained workforce.
The second phase will be the enactment of a law by the Ondo state house of assembly to make it mandatory for all our artisan to obtain certification from Ondo State Polytechnic Owo in order to practise in Ondo State as obtained in all the civilized communities of the world.
We call on all corporate and non corporate citizens of Ondo State, Nigeria as well as members of the international communities to collaborate with us to deliver on this mandate.
To this end we call on all members of the state house of assembly, National Assembly , All Political appointees, technocrats , business men and women , members of the corporate and non corporate institutions in Ondo State to sponsor our youths to the knowledge and skill acquisition center so that we can get our state developed, safer and better for all our citizens.
Today – I have a word for the youths of Ondo State – take a decision to move forward- learn a trade and secure for yourself a great future — Stop looking for jobs that are not in existence
Looking for jobs that are not in existence represent backwardness , while skill acquisition represent forwardness
Backwardness and forwardness are two words with each having its own significance. While the former means to retreat, the latter means to step up.
Throughout the history of mankind,only a few instances abound where those who chose to go backward triumph. History has always stood by those who chose to move forward in the face of damning challenges!- The choice we make as individuals goes along way, all things equal, to define the outcome of our journey -As directed, take the bull by the horn today, step up to acquire new skills, exploit new horizon,meet new people,take your chances as they come,think outside the box,leave the the comfort zone ,and become the champion you are destined to be.
I see you marching into the hands of those of us —awaiting to march you into your glory.
