Atwo-storey building under construction reportedly collapsed at Oriwu Estate on Wednesday, trapping several victims beneath the rubble.

 

Emergency responders from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) swiftly launched a search and rescue operation following the collapse in the Ikota area of Ajah, Lagos State.

 

However, five adults have been rescued from the rubble, with four receiving urgent pre-hospital medical care.

The scene remains tense as rescue teams race against time, combing through the wreckage in search of more survivors.

 

Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, confirmed that rescue operations were still ongoing, assuring that further updates would be provided as the situation unfolds.

 

Meanwhile, the cause of the collapse remains unknown at the moment.
