Two Ex-Commissioners Dump Ruling APC Party
They are Jafaru Ibrahim Sani, who served at various times as Commissioner for Local Government; Education and Environment and Hafsat Mohammed Baba, a former Commissioner for Human Services and Social Development in Kaduna State.
Two commissioners who served under the administration of former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, have announced their defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
They are Jafaru Ibrahim Sani, who served at various times as Commissioner for Local Government; Education and Environment and Hafsat Mohammed Baba, a former Commissioner for Human Services and Social Development in Kaduna State.
Sani was the one nominated by El-Rufai to President Bola Tinubu to replace him as Minister in 2023 after the Senate withheld his confirmation and those of two others, citing security reports from the State Security Service for the action.

However, Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna kicked against his nomination as suggested by his immediate predecessor.
Both Sani and Baba announced their defection from the APC in different letters to their ward chairmen.
They expressed their disappointment with the party, accusing the leadership of the party of straying from the progressive ideals of its founding members.

Earlier, El-Rufai announced his resignation from the APC and joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
The development laid to rest months of speculation regarding his immediate political plans.
The former FCT Minister had citied the party’s deviation from its founding principles and vision for his action.
He accused the current leadership of disregarding internal democracy and treating members with contempt.
