‘Tinubu’s Administration Deliberately Pushed Dollar Close To N2000’ – Ex-APC Spokesman
Yekini Nabena, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has leveled serious accusations against the administration of President Bola Tinubu, alleging a deliberate manipulation of the dollar exchange rate before allowing it to crash.
Speaking during an interview with Sunday Sun, Nabena expressed skepticism about praising President Tinubu for the recent depreciation of the dollar against the Naira.
Nabena argued that it would be premature for Nigerians to commend the current administration, as the currency has not yet depreciated to the level it was at when they assumed power.
He asserted that the Tinubu-led government intends to manipulate the dollar’s value until it reaches a predetermined rate that aligns with their agenda.
According to Nabena, “It is wrong to clap for Tinubu on the recent appreciation of Naira over the Dollars. Before we start counting it as an achievement, we should ask how much his administration met in dollars and how much the current exchange is now. The appreciation is manipulated.”
He further elaborated, suggesting that the government may have intentionally inflated the dollar’s value close to N2,000 before allowing it to decline. Nabena implied that this strategy is intended to create an illusion of progress and economic stability.
