Nigerians on Twitter
Many Nigerians have taken to social media to express their dissatisfaction with President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of tomorrowā€™s inauguration, stating that he does not represent them as their president.

According to The PUNCH, this wave of criticism was triggered by comments made by Pastor Tunde Bakare, the Serving Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, on Saturday. Bakare, a renowned cleric and a member of Tinubuā€™s political party, the All Progressives Congress, alleged several malpractices during the 2023 elections. He insisted that the Independent National Electoral Commission mishandled the entire electoral process.

On Sunday, many Nigerians took to Twitter, trending the hashtag #TinubuIsnotMyPresident, and proclaiming LP candidate Peter Obi as their preferred leader.

One Twitter user with the handle One Dallas tweeted, ā€œNigerians didnā€™t vote for Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election. A drug dealer cannot be my president because I am not a drug dealer. #TinubuDidNotWinAnyElection #TinubuIsNotMyPresident.ā€

Another user wrote, ā€œBOLA AHMED TINUBU IS NOT MY PRESIDENT. He is an unconstitutional President-elect and will also be an unconstitutional President if he is sworn in.ā€

A user named Davekenadu tweeted, ā€œNigerians meet the most useless politicians. One is President Mohammad Buhari, a man that supports corruption wholeheartedly. And Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a drug baron, our President-select, chose a terrorist as his vice. #TinubuIsNotMyPresident #TinubuDidNotWinAnyElection.ā€

While these Twitter users expressed their disapproval of the President-elect, some individuals took the opportunity to celebrate Tinubuā€™s upcoming presidency and offered prayers for his success.

One user named Big Love tweeted, ā€œIf you like donā€™t accept it!!!! Bola Tinubu is president; you donā€™t have any choice but to accept it, make sure you eat well tomorrow is a new dawn is a new day!!!! Congratulations to our president Tinubu, I pray for strength and Godā€™s direction please keep yourā€¦ā€

Olanike_Jimoh tweeted, ā€œYa Allah I can see what you did for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, how all his enemiesā€™ strategies worked in his favor, to attain his long-term dream. Please let me attain the peak of my dreams, against my enemies. Ameen. Congratulations Nigeria. My sacrifice was not in vain.ā€

Another user, Shaibu Abdulganiyu, tweeted, ā€œTo GOD be the Glory! Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be called GCFR from today, Kashim Shettima will be called GCON from today. Whoever that GOD has ordained, nobody can challenge HIM! Congratulations to Nigeria and Nigerians. God bless all Tinubu and Shettima supporters. God bless Nigerians.ā€

It is important to note that while opinions on Tinubuā€™s presidency are divided, he emerged as the winner of the February 25 presidential election and is scheduled to be inaugurated as president on Monday, May 29, 2023. Prior to the election, Tinubu secured victory over prominent contenders such as Pastor Tunde Bakare, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi during the presidential election primary held in Abuja.
