Tinubu Is Having ‘Private Time’ In UK And Can Go Anywhere He Wishes — Presidency Replies To Nigerians’ Inquiry
The presidential aide mentioned this on Friday night, noting that the President is now enjoying his “private time” and has the freedom to choose where he wants to spend it.
Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser of Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, has claimed that his principal is not restricted to London, the United Kingdom, for his two-week leave.
The presidential aide mentioned this on Friday night, noting that the President is now enjoying his “private time” and has the freedom to choose where he wants to spend it.
Nigerians have for two days been agitating over the alarming fuel price hike and attendant struggles this has brought on the country amid the president’s continuous absence to give answers.
On Saturday, Onanuga wrote: “President Tinubu is on leave for two weeks. He is not restricted to the UK. It is his private time. He can go to anywhere he so desires. He is still observing his leave.”

It could be recalled that Tinubu departed Nigeria on Wednesday, October 2, for a two-week working vacation in the UK as part of his annual leave.
Meanwhile, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on political and other matters, Ibrahim Kabir Masari, had also stated on Friday that President Bola Tinubu left London, the United Kingdom for Paris, France, for an important engagement.
Masari shared the news on his verified X handle, @KabirIbrah64, stating that he had the honour of visiting the president at his private residence in the UK.
“Today, I had the honour of visiting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at his private residence in the United Kingdom, where we engaged in productive discussions,” Masari said.
Following their discussions, Masari confirmed they were now heading to Paris for another significant event. “We then departed for Paris, France, for another important engagement,” he added.
Although no further details were given about the Paris engagement, it is believed to be part of President Tinubu’s junketing trips to attend to his health needs.
“Today, I had the honour of visiting President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu at his private residence in the United Kingdom, where we engaged in productive discussions. We then departed for Paris, France, for another important engagement,” Masari had said.
