Rufai Oseni, one of the co-hosts of the ARISE TV Morning Show, has indirectly criticized Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, the Special Adviser on Political Matters to Vice-President Kashim Shettima. Oseni, in a post shared on X, suggested that certain activists from the North have become silent after securing significant positions in the administration led by President Bola Tinubu.

Although Oseni did not explicitly mention any names, it was implied that Baba-Ahmed might be one of the individuals he was alluding to.

Before joining the Tinubu administration, Baba-Ahmed, formerly the spokesperson for the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), was known for regularly criticizing former President Muhammadu Buhari.

“Some activists from the North are now quiet, the Buhari economic quagmire wasn’t this elevated but they waxed lyrical and they kept on pounding, now that they have got Advisory positions in Govt, they are quiet, The man dies when he keeps quiet when we ought the speak,” Oseni wrote.

In response, the former spokesperson for the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) characterized the TV co-host as a coward for refraining from explicitly naming anyone in his post.

Quoting the post, Baba-Ahmed wrote: “Pity. One would expect people like you, Oseni, to name names. This is cowardly. It is possible that you do not know that serving the nation is not a source of shame.

“People who are involved in addressing ‘Buhari’s quagmire’ are miles ahead of those like you who hide behind mics.”
