Have you been to places like Turkey or South Africa, where you can find real luxury homes for less than a million dollars? These homes come with central sewage systems, central gas, steady electricity, and are located in clean, well-planned environments.
Now, compare that to Lagos, where some houses are being called ‘luxury’ at $5 million—yet there’s no stable electricity, no central gas, no central sewage system, no clean water, smelling environment and in many cases, the environment isn’t even well maintained
As an interior decorator, I know what a luxury home looks like, and honestly, Lagos doesn’t have one. People are just spending ridiculous amounts of money to impress others on social media.
