A town renowned for its resilience, industry, and people of grit now stares down the barrel of a dangerous, calculated political hijack. A silent coup is unfolding before our eyes. And at its heart is a cabal of desperate politicians, corrupt council staff, and a dangerous candidate.
This was contained in a press statement released to Our heritage reporter online news on Friday morning by Mr Adewale Adelagun, the conveyner of Mushin Center for Progress and Development Describing Haruna Tubosun Aruwe, as a man notorious for his cultist affiliations, who is now being shamefully pushed forward to occupy the seat of Chairman in Mushin Local Government. This is a man whose own brother recently lost his life in a violent cult clash right here in Mushin — a deadly symptom of the violence Aruwe himself has long been linked to. His name is whispered in the streets and the corridors of cultist strongholds alike. And now, that same name is being dressed up for officialdom.
But it gets worse.
According to Adewale, Aruwe has been implicated in the illegal sale of council properties belonging to the people of Mushin. Council insiders confirm he, in connivance with rogue council staff, illegally appropriated shops in Ladipo Auto Spare-Part Market to himself — robbing Mushin’s coffers of vital revenue meant for roads, healthcare, and education.
And his crimes don’t stop there. This is a vice-chairman who was alleged by the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation to have illegally released impounded vehicles without authorization. A man with no respect for law, process, or public trust.
And now, they want him to lead Mushin.
An Unfit Fellow with No Capacity. Aside from his violent past and corrupt tendencies, it is a known fact within Mushin APC that Aruwe lacks the intellectual competence to govern a council as dynamic and complex as Mushin. He cannot inspire a crowd, articulate policy, or even convincingly deliver a public address to the party faithful.
Yet, through a dangerous alliance between the outgoing Chairmen Emmanuel Bamgboye, Ajala Rasak and their cabal, plans are underway to foist this unworthy, unpopular candidate on Mushin residents.
The Plot to Silence Senator Ganiyu Olarenwaju Solomon (GOS)
This isn’t just an assault on Mushin’s future. It’s a direct attack on the political godfather of Mushin, Distinguished Senator Ganiyu Solomon.
For years, GOS has served as the apex leader of Mushin APC, guiding the party’s affairs with integrity, wisdom, and vision. His leadership has delivered electoral victories and stability to Mushin’s political space. Yet today, that leadership is being undermined in broad daylight.
