THE POWER OF PRAISE – Pastor Isaac Olutimehin
TEXT:
Isaiah 66:1 KJV.
Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?
*MESSAGE:*
☆☆☆ Our God sits in heaven and uses the earth as His footstool.
☆☆☆ In other words, the leg of our God stretches from His throne in heaven and rests upon the earth.
☆☆☆ What a long leg, what a long reach and what a wonderful connection.
☆☆☆ Our God is the best connection any man can have. No one has long legs like Him.
☆☆☆ Beloved, if this same God will now stand, His entire weight will rest upon the whole earth.
☆☆☆ Which means that the earth and it’s fullness thereof; will now come under His weight.
☆☆☆ Meaning that all your problems, challenges, situations and circumstances; disturbing the peace of your mind, will now be under His weight.
☆☆☆ And because they can’t carry the weight of God, they will surely collapse under the burden of His weight.
☆☆☆ Beloved, for us to be able to move God to stand from His throne, we need to praise Him.
☆☆☆ That was exactly what happened when Paul and Silas praised God in their bonds in prison.
☆☆☆ God arose, His full weight was on the prison walls, no wonder the prison walls shook to its foundation and all their chains and fetters were broken. Read Acts 16:25-26.
☆☆☆ Beloved, some people don’t really understand the power of praises.
☆☆☆ They don’t know what they can achieve through praises.
☆☆☆ In Genesis chapter 49:8, while Jacob was praying for his sons, when he got to the turn of Judah, he said👇
” *Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise* : thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father’s children shall bow down before thee” – Genesis 49:8.
☆☆☆ For us to really get the import of the prayers of Jacob for Judah, let’s look further into the scriptures.
☆☆☆ When Moses died, Joshua was a waiting replacement. However, when Joshua died and the children of Israel needed someone to lead them into battle against their enemies, they cried to God for direction and God said👇
“And the LORD said, Judah shall go up: behold, I have delivered the land into his hand” – Judges 1:2.
☆☆☆ Remember that in Genesis 49:8, while Jacob was praying for Judah, he said👇
“Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise”
☆☆☆ Beloved, Judah means Praise. Therefore, when God now said to the children of Israel that Judah should go up first in battle, God was simply saying: *Praise me and victory is yours.*
☆☆☆ Let me quickly share some testimonies here to encourage your faith.
✓✓✓ In 2 Chronicles 20:20-24, the children of Israel were to go into battle against 3 powerful nations, Jehoshaphat who was their king then, simply asked them to praise God. You know the rest of the story. God gave them total victory because their enemies turned against one another in battle.
✓✓✓ Daddy G.O told us that many years ago, during a wedding service at our headquarters parish at Ebute Metta, Lagos, Nigeria; during the signing of the marriage register at the vestry, the groom heard a strange call and answered. He fell down and died. The ministers started praising God, and encouraged the church members, who didn’t know what had happened, to begin to praise God while waiting for the couple to join them after signing the marriage register. Miraculously, the groom came back to life and the wedding ceremony continued.
✓✓✓ Listen to yet another testimony. A lady was pregnant and ready to deliver. After labouring for hours and couldn’t deliver, the church prayer warriors were invited to pray. After praying for hours and nothing positive happened, suddenly the prayer leader remembered that if prayers fail, try praises. He now encouraged everyone to start praising God.
✓✓✓ Meanwhile, there was this herbalist in that compound who had a grudge against the pregnant woman that she offended him. He had tied the pregnancy in the spirit realm, conjured it into a calabash which he hug on the wall.
✓✓✓ He knew the woman couldn’t deliver. He heard when the prayer warriors were praying and nothing happened.
✓✓✓ However, when he suddenly heard everyone praising God, he believed the woman had delivered. Out of anger and frustration, he removed the calabash from the wall and smashed it on the floor; immediately he did that, the pregnant woman delivered.
✓✓✓ Job sang praises to God in the book of Job 19:25 and in Job 42:12-13, God restored all that he had lost and gave him additional more years to live.
☆☆☆ What an awesome God we serve. Learn to praise God in your challenges beloved and you will surely testify.
*PRAYERS*
1. Oh God my father, endow me with the garment of praises and thanksgiving.
2. Oh God, as I begin to praise you afresh and anew, let my battles turn to testimonies in Jesus name.
3. In the heat of the challenges of life, please Lord, strengthen me to praise you like never before.
4. Father, please arise and let all the challenges of my life become your footstool
5. My father, my creator, arise for my sake and let all my challenges bow under the weight of your power.
6. Devil, you are already a failure because you cannot stop me from praising God.
7. I refuse to be ungrateful to God for all the benefits I enjoy.
*PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS*
I decree, as you praise God this new month, God will arise for your sake and all your challenges shall disappear in Jesus name.
Because barrenness cannot carry the weight of God, I decree, barrenness shall collapse out of your life in Jesus name.
Because joblessness cannot carry the weight of God, I decree and declare, joblessness shall crumble out of your life in Jesus name.
Because, reproach, ridicule and all forms of challenges cannot withstand the weight of the Most High God, I therefore decree, they shall all collapse under His mighty weight from today in Jesus name.
I prophesy, this month is your month of freedom, your month of all round fruitfulness, your month of celebration in Jesus name.
Worship The Most High God throughout this month and begin to experience the wonders of praises.
Shalom.
