The political misadventure of the duo of Gbenga Ale and Femi Idris : Meso Obanigba

It is not enough that this duo of political neophytes purportedly gathered to anoint a failed politician as a sole candidate to represent Owo/Ose people at the House of Representative they also made a political blunder by dropping the name of the Apc party leader in the person of Arakunrin Akeredolu.
Sir, your audacity if not retracted will kill APC in the forthcoming elections.

To prove their political naivete as well as their lack of political depth further, the duo seem to justify their action on the need to be fair to the Ose axis of the community as to allow it produce the REP since Owo has produced the Governor.
Sirs/ma, what could be more unfair than sending a ‘siddon look and an ineffective lay-about man’ as a representative in an arena where political action/political horse trading/ democracy dividends are been appropriated?
Tell me sir. What will you get from the arena?
They collectively forgot that the issue at hand here is not whether the REP should come from Owo or Ose axis but that the lack of qualitative representation from the current legislator representing the good people of Owo/Ose at the house is robbing them of the dividend of democracy and has of necessity pushed forward the need to have someone of pedigree to represent the Zone well in the house.
WE NEED TO BE WELL REPRESENTED AT THE FLOOR OF THE HOUSE.
We need to get our voice back
We could not afford to shortchange ourselves again on the alter of zoning any longer by presenting a nonperforming personality to represent us in the house.
We want our voice to be heard unlike what we have currently where our rep. hardly talks or speaks in the house let alone sponsor any bill since the last 3years or so.
His name does not ring bell nor arouse any memory unlike what we use to have in the recent past.
Outstanding and performing Legislators are noted for their fiery and profound speeches lased with wisdom in the house, as well as, sponsorship of quality legislations that have bearing on the life of the people they represent.
But the only speech to which our representative can be attributed was that ‘he has settled the party elders and therefore he deserves a second term.’
This really sound unbelievable and it beggars belief.
No wonder he is looking for consensus arrangement because he is scare to face the delegates.
Legislators are supposed to be accessible to the people they represent but our own legislator have the obnoxious attitude of being aloof, snobbish and offish to a point of total disdain to the electorates.
He neither picks his calls nor responds to text messages. He neither contributes to issues on whassap platforms to which he belongs nor responds to enquiries about his legislative duties on the platform of the people he claim to be representing.
All this happens because he felt he can’t stoop this low to be interacting with the masses who elected him in the first instance.
Afterall, according to him he has settled the parry elders.
He forgets easily that Owo/ Ose has alternatives both in party affiliation as well as in quality leaders capable of representing the zone in all the parties and there is no compulsion for us to vote only the candidates of Apc.
The people of Owo/ Ose are politically sophisticated to the point of non rigid political party affiliation. They are very capable of taking well informed decisions
They can elect candidates from any political party provided the candidate will represent them very well.
The politics of the people here is so fluid and unpredictable. They are capable of voting across party divide.
They have done it before and they can still do it,cif push comes to shove.
All what they are after is quality representation at all times.
So, the ruling party, APC should not have the misbelief and ephemeral notion that the ZONE is sure for them.
Nothing is sure for anybody.
The ZONE is not sure for any fumbling party but sure for a well prepared party which always have a better showing during the elections.
This is the reason I was taken aback by the show of shame recorded at the presentation of Adelegbe as a sole/consensus candidate of APC by the duo of Femi Idris and Gbenga Ale.
I shudder at the sheer insensitivity and the boastfulness of the duo in taking the people of Owo/Ose for a ride.
Gbenga Ale, in particular, is so arrogant and power drunk to the extent of not only he been contented with sponsoring his own brother to the state house of Assembly but also presenting a sole candidate for the house of Representative.
What an audacious audacity!
What an infra dignitato !!
He has made too much money from the Aketi government and now sees himself as a godfather and a power broker of a sort.
Sir, your cup seem to be full this time around.
Watch it sir. Owo is not the kind of people you take for granted in this manner.
Owo will soon deflate his ago and humble him completely. It is a matter of time.
The APC, though may be popular, may not win the election if it does not present a popular candidate elected by the majority delegates in a proper election.
Imposition of candidate is no more popular anywhere in Nigeria and political party that is still romantizing with imposition is doing itself a great disservice and may be on its way to electoral perdition and political oblivion.
I believe the Governor, himself been a beneficiary of a serious anti – imposition movement in his party, is much more aware of this fact more than this fumbling duo. Hence his coming out almost immediately to douse the tension of the bad politics been played by Femi Idris, Gbenga Ale, Adelegbe et al.
The Governor, in his characteristic frankness has come out to denounce imposition and promised all aspirants of an equal opportunity and a level playing field.
That is a mark of quality leadership. We appreciate him and thank him immensely for his timely intervention.
He should equally admonish the hawks in the party not the least his appointees to thread softly or else, the next action of the people will humble them beyond their wildest imagination.
Owo ko GBA gbere ri o.
The other political party is waiting and watching for any slip from the APC to capitalize upon and go for the kill.
They have men and material to carry out their threat. Imagine a scenario where Achiever should face a blabbing Adelegbe in an election, the result might shock you.
The people have forgiving APC for presenting a non performing legislator for the past 3years but they will only stay with Apc this time if they get it right by presenting a more rounded candidate. Or else the party will have itself to blame.
Of all the people canvassing on the Apc platform, Dr. Abiola Oshodi stands shoulder high above the rest both in trust,
* honesty,
* competency,
* openness,
* accessibility,
* capability,
*exposure,
*capacity to network across board,
*job creation acumen, *ability to think out of the box, *international and local connection, *entrenchment of empowerment programs and many more attributes of a thoroughbred modern day leader.
Let’s do away with all this archaic, parochial, self centred and selfish legislators who, for close to 3years now have achieved nothing expect to boast of their ability to bribe party leaders.
They disappear after election only to reappear during election!
The time is now. The action is ripe. The mandate must not be lost again to an inefficient and ineffective minnows.
We need and deserve quality representation at all times.
