In the build up to the just concluded Anambra Gubernatorial election, there was a big fear in the minds of all and sundress that the election may not hold or may not hold peacefully, but the gigantic step taking by the Emerging leaders Forum of Nigeria (ELFON) under the leadership of Godstime Chukwubuikem Samuel was able to reshape the situation and look of things which actually lead to the peaceful electioneering process in the State.
In a release sent to our heritage reporter by ELFON Anambra state chapter, the group stated that: it was the effort of ELFON in holding a summit where all chapter heads of Agboros, National Union of road transport workers, keke napep drivers, student union leaders and community youth leaders were assembled and made to agree for a peaceful election to hold.
Those who were opposed to election holding saw it that a great percentage of the grassroot supporters had in that summit taken a stand for a peaceful election coupled with the resolution of the meeting of South eastern traditional rulers and religious leaders pointing towards a free, fair and credible electoral process that won’t be marred by any sit at home order, the coast was then forced to be clear and today the rest is history. Anambra State Governorship election has come and gone, winner; Prof. Charles Soludo declared as Governor- elect.
For peace and unity of our country, all hands must be on deck to ensure that Nigeria remains indivisible. Now the big question is: Can ELFON power the Forthcoming National Summit for peace and unity in Nigeria?
The cooperation amongst the people, organized youth bodies and security agencies made the whole process easier, therefore as group weust commend the efforts of all security agencies involved in the peaceful move
