The Betrayal Of Mushin : Senator Ganiyu Solomon’s Capitulation Paves The Way For A Naive Chairman
Mushin center for progress and Development laments, calls for viable candidate. . . .
Mushin, a city whose streets birthed kings of commerce, scholars of repute, and public servants of honour. A community known for its resilience, brilliance, and pride, Mushin has given Nigeria some of its finest minds and most accomplished citizens. And yet, today, Mushin is witnessing a treacherous betrayal as the custodian of our legacy, Distinguished Senator Ganiyu Olarenwaju Solomon (GOS), sheepishly succumb to the will of a desperate political cabal—trading the soul of Mushin for backdoor deals and unholy alliances.
Let us recall our origins:
In 1999, Hon. Ganiyu Solomon himself, a Political Science graduate of the University of Lagos, led Mushin with the dignity his education and pedigree afforded him. His deputy, Dr. Fajemisin, was a towering figure in community healthcare.
He was succeeded by Hon. Mogaji Oluseye Oladejo, an articulate English graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University and the Cicero of Mushin—a man who left legacies, not liabilities. Deputized by Dr. Abayomi Aina, a respected trado-medical expert, their administration continued to raise the bar.
Then came the late Hon. Olatunde Babatunde Adepitan, a seasoned educationist whose era invested heavily in youth and education, partnered with Hon. Emmanuel Bamgboye as Vice. Mushin was once a cradle for the educated, the distinguished, and the capable.
The Rise of the Cabal — And Senator Ganiyu Solomon’s Silent Compromise
The rot set in with Bamgboye’s administration, where merit was discarded and a known cultist was installed as vice-chairman. This move was met with muted opposition due to internal party politics.
Now, the stakes are even higher. Hon. Haruna Tubosun Aruwe, a street-level cult enforcer with no educational history, no leadership acumen, and a dossier of violent affiliations, is being forcefully positioned for Chairmanship.
And the one man expected to stop it—GOS—has capitulated.
Sources confirm that in recent weeks, Senator Solomon succumbed to pressure from the current chairmen, Hon. Bamgboye and Hon. Ajala, and vested cabal interests, cutting deals that would protect personal stakes and shield old alliances while sacrificing Mushin’s future.
His silence is no longer tactical—it is transactional.
His influence is no longer righteous—it is rented.
Aruwe: The Face of Decay
Uneducated: No record of verifiable schooling. A man incapable of writing policy, negotiating development projects, or inspiring the youth.
Unconnected: Incapable of representing Mushin’s interests at state levels or securing partnerships for local progress.
Unfit: A cultist by notoriety, whose brother recently died in a Mushin cult clash—a consequence of the very violence Aruwe is rumored to fuel.
And yet, in a town built by graduates, doctors, educators, and orators, this is the face Mushin’s leadership now prepares to parade.
The Death of Mushin’s Political Soul
This is no longer about one man’s ambition. It’s about a dangerous political compromise—where legacies are sold, people betrayed, and the soul of a proud city auctioned to thugs in broad daylight.
Senator Solomon’s fall from grace is perhaps the most tragic element in this sordid affair. A man who once led us now leads us astray.
A Call for Resistance
Mushin must not sit idly by.
We call upon:
Lagos APC Leadership
The APC National Working Committee
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu
Security Agencies
The silent but principled elders of Mushin
You, the sons and daughters of Mushin
It’s time to reclaim your town. To reject both the cabal and their enablers.
If we allow this betrayal to stand, we do not only crown a cultist—we endorse the death of intellect, dignity, and future opportunity in Mushin.
This isn’t politics anymore. This is the funeral of merit. And you the people of Mushin and party faithful are the only ones who can stop it.
The people of Mushin reject this horror. Mushin deserves better. Mushin shall resist this retrogressive choice at the poll now and in 2027.
