Avideo has emerged showing Syrian Prime Minister Mohammad Ghazi Al-Jalali “being escorted” by armed rebels in Damascus on Sunday.

In the footage, Jalali is seen surrounded by armed men, walking down steps and entering a black SUV alongside another man.
“The former Prime Minister is with the 5th Corps from the people of Hauran heading to the Four Seasons Hotel for a meeting and to hand over the country’s institutions to the heroes of the Free Army,” a man is heard saying in the video.
The prime minister had earlier stated that he seeks to “ensure” the operation of public institutions, state facilities, and the preservation of “safety and security for all citizens.”
Meanwhile, SaharaReporters had reported that thousands of Syrians gathered in a main square in Damascus on Sunday, chanting “Freedom” as they celebrated the fall of President Bashar al-Assad’s regime after more than 13 years of civil war.
The Islamist rebels’ capture of Damascus marked the end of decades of Assad family rule, forcing Assad to flee to an unknown destination with his family.
Syria’s army command informed officers that Assad’s rule had ended, though military operations reportedly continued against “terrorist groups” in Hama, Homs, and the Deraa countryside.
The collapse of Assad’s regime followed a shift in regional dynamics, including the deaths of key Hezbollah leaders and Russia’s focus on its war in Ukraine.
Turkey-backed Syrian forces, meanwhile, continued their push against Kurdish forces in northern Syria.
It could be recalled that Prime Minister Mohammad Ghazi al-Jalali has called for free elections to determine Syria’s future. Jalali also revealed discussions with rebel commander Abu Mohammed al-Golani to manage the transitional period.
