Suspects arrested by DSS for diverting 1,200 bags of Fed Govt rice meant for Citizens
Vigilant operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) has apprehended individuals responsible for diverting 1,200 bags of rice intended for Katsina State by the federal government. Additionally, the suspects also diverted 48 bags of rice kits.
DSS Spokesman, Dr. Peter Afunanya, revealed these details during a press briefing in Abuja today. He stated that in July, the DSS arrested several individuals involved in various criminal activities, including oil theft, kidnapping, burglary, cultism, terrorism, and insurgency.
Among those arrested were high-ranking terrorist leaders, logistical facilitators, gun runners, and individuals involved in manufacturing improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Dr. Afunanya also reported that the DSS operatives seized a significant cache of weapons, including semi-automatic double-barrel shotguns, cartridges, pump-action rifles, locally-made pistols, IED initiators, AK-47 rifles, magazines, and batteries.
