Steering Rod Malfunction Leads to Lone Accident in Akure as Gov. Aiyedatiwa’s Aides, Hon. Wellington Adebawo, Hon. Gbenga Atiba Effect Driver’s Rescue
In a swift emergency response, Hon. (Prince) Wellington Oriade Adebawo, Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Emergency Response, joined by Hon. Gbenga Atiba, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Security, rescued a truck driver involved in a lone accident along the Oba-ile road in Akure.
The accident, which occurred when the steering rod of the truck was removed while the vehicle was in motion, left the driver trapped and in need of urgent medical attention. Fortunately, Hon. Atiba quickly alerted Hon. Adebawo, informing him of the situation as he subsequently sprang into action, rushing to the scene to coordinate the rescue efforts.
The unfortunate incident also caused significant damage to the surrounding government infrastructure, destroying a street light pole in the process
Upon arrival, Hon. Adebawo assessed the situation and promptly set to work, bringing to bear his expertise and resources to carefully extricate the driver from the wreckage. Despite the challenges posed by the accident, Hon. Adebawo ensured that the rescue operation was carried out with the utmost care and professionalism.
Afterwards, Hon. Adebawo and his team quickly arranged for medical treatment, transporting the injured individual to Skye hospital, Akure, for further care.
Following this, Hon. Adebawo supervised how the truck was towed to a safe environment, minimizing disruptions to traffic flow.
According to the Special Assistant on Emergency Response, the swift and effective response to the accident is a testament to the commitment of the Ondo State Government to ensuring public safety and providing emergency services.
