State Government Paid N281million For Project Items Without Physical Evidence Of Purchase – Audit Report
According to the document, items worth N27.5 million in the contract for completion of the Accountant General’s office headquarters complex at Alagbaka, Akure, were not accounted for.
Areview of the Ondo State audit report for the 2023 fiscal year has shown that despite making N281million payments for different project items, the items were not physically available when an audit team went for physical verification.

The items are; a project vehicle, that is one Hilux Shell spec, five units of laptops, 5 units of Andriod table tablets two units of printers, 5 units of digital camera, 1 unit of scanner, internet modem and subscription tables, chairs imported steel file cabinet.
Items worth N72.2million were not accounted for in the contract for construction of hospital facility in Akure complex of the University of Medical Science Teaching Hopsital, Akure.

The items not physically accounted for totalling N72.2million included two hilux vehicles worth N60million, unaccounted for also was drivers wages to the tune of N3.5million, the two vehicles, temporary site office said to worth N6.1million and eight units of laptop computers, four units of printer HP 402 at N2.5million.
In the contract for construction of hospital facility in Akure complex of the University of Medical Science Teaching Hospital, Akure. Items worth N70.7million were unaccounted for.
In the project, two Hilux vehicles worth N60million were said not to be physically available, driver wages for the two vehicles at N3.5million, temporary site office at N6.1million.
In the construction of new governor’s lodge at Alagbaka Akure, N106.6million was unaccounted for.
The money was for procurement of two hilux vehicles valued at N74.4 million, maintenance cost of the vehicles valued at N1.4 million, N2.3 million representing drivers wages for the vehicles, refurbishment of three hilux vehicles for the ministry valued at N7.2 million, refurbishment of three hilux vehicles for the Ondo State bureau of public procurement at rate of N7.2 million, temporary site office and store valued at N8.6 million.
Purchase of high grades ten units laptop computer and 10 units HP 402 valued at N5.2 million.
In the construction of the Ondo State innovation Centre, Akure, N4.5million was unaccounted for.

Four units of laptop computer 4G and all in one A3 colored computer at rate of N3million, two units laptop computer 4GB and all in one A3 colored printer at N1.5million.

While he picked up the phone once and after being asked to comment on the findings, he dropped the call lamenting about poor network.
He however failed to pick up when called back immediately and failed to pick up several times.
He also failed to respond to messages seeking comments on the development sent to his line via WhatsApp.
