Stakeholders Lauds Governor Aiyedatiwa’s Aide, Hon Kevin Solomon Olaolu on provisions of free Medical care in Ose Communities
In a heartwarming display of community service, Hon. Kevin Solomon Olaolu, in collaboration with the Margaret Mosunmola College of Health Science & Technology, Owo, recently concluded a highly successful free medical outreach event in Ose Local Government Area, Ondo State. The event, aptly named “Iwosan Ofe’datiwa,” took place from October 18th to 20th, 2024, at Afo, Ose Local Government, Ondo State.
The outreach program, which aimed to address the healthcare needs of the people, provided a variety of medical services, ranging from general health checkups to specialized treatments. In a region where access to medical care can be limited due to financial constraints and distance, this outreach offered a lifeline to hundreds of residents who turned up in large numbers to take advantage of the free services.
One of the standout features of the program was the provision of free cataract surgeries, which restored vision to dozens of individuals who had been living with impaired sight. Cataract, a major cause of blindness if left untreated, was a priority in this outreach. With the help of professional ophthalmologists, many people who had been struggling with their vision were able to regain their sight and, by extension, their independence. Additionally, the event saw the free distribution of eyeglasses to further improve the vision of those in need.
Other services provided during the outreach included free health checks, testing, and treatment for common ailments such as hypertension, diabetes, and other chronic illnesses that are prevalent in the area. The outreach was manned by a team of healthcare professionals and consultants from the Margaret Mosunmola College of Health Science & Technology.
