As the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Chrome Group, a diversified conglomerate with interests in oil and gas, power, logistics, and telecommunications, Sir Emeka Offor has built industries that create jobs, stimulate economic growth, and contribute to national development. Millions of books was distributed to primary and secondary schools as well as universities throughout Nigeria. Tens of thousands of students in Nigeria for years to come will benefit from this contribution. What makes this gift extra special is that it will be duplicated in several other West and East African countries. A consignment of five 40-foot shipping containers full of books was delivered to the Gambia.
Sir Emeka Offor in partnership with the American non-governmental organization, Books For Africa (BFA), Sir Emeka embarked on an educational project bringing over 1 million books, computers, and school supplies to Nigeria and other West African nations. Through his nonprofit, the Sir Emeka Offor Foundation (SEOF), Offor has become BFA’s most important partner in Africa. By the conclusion of this ambitious $14 million dollar book project, his foundation will be the largest private donor of books on the Continent. Furthermore, Sir Emeka Offor Foundation endowed a N50 million for the Faculty of Social Sciences at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
A Humble Leader with an Immense Heart

He was also honoured with Rotary’s highest honour for an individual ‘Service Above Self Award’, Sir Emeka Offor is a member of the Arch C. Klumph Society. He became Africa’s largest donor to Rotary when he announced a $1 million gift to PolioPlus, his second at the 2014 Rotary Convention in Sydney.
He Received Highest Recognition At The Rotary Convention In Lisbon, Rotary Awarded Sir Offor at Africa Polio Free Certification Celebration, an award for his polio eradication donations and a Rotary Hall named after him. Rotary International awarded him as the 2015/16 International Service Award for a Polio-Free World in recognition of his contribution to Polio eradication throughout the region.
He is a recipient of Honourary doctorate degrees from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, University of Nigeria Nsukka, Nile University Abuja among other notable Institutions in Nigeria and beyond. He is a Recipient of the “Philantropist of the Year 2012” award from the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Anambra State Council, and a humanity award from the Kpakpando Foundation for Physically Challenged Persons among several awards too many to mention. However, what stands out most is the gratitude and admiration expressed by the countless people who have benefited from his goodwill.
