Singer, Spyro Threatens Legal Action Over False Career Setback Claim Involving Davido
Nigerian singer Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, better known as Spyro, has denied stating that he experienced a career setback following his collaboration with Davido and Mayorkun.
The singer, who teamed up with Davido and Mayorkun in 2018 for the remix of his song “Funke,” was reportedly quoted in an interview with Hip TV, where he mentioned that he expected the collaboration to boost his career.
However, he claimed that instead of progress, he faced an unforeseen setback, despite the song’s initial success.
The supposed revelation triggered backlash, with Davido’s supporters criticising Spyro for apparently holding the 30BG boss responsible for his challenges.
The blog, with the X handle @Naija_PR, had posted photos of Spyro and Davido with the caption: “My career experienced a setback after I featured Davido and Mayourkun – Spyro.”
On Tuesday, Spyro responded by dismissing the post, asserting, “This is false!!! I never said anything like this, I give you 24 hours to take this down or be prepared to face the consequences.”
