A Nigerian Statesman, Business Mogul and Convener of Eastern Nigeria Businessmen Forum, Chief Charles Ahize (Akpuruka N’Olu) has called for an immediate cessation of the protest and destruction of Private and public properties of the citizens, urging young people to engage in peaceful and constructive dialogue to address their grievances.

The Statesman condemned the escalation of violence, looting, and destruction of public and private properties that have overshadowed the protest and highlighted the negative impact of the protests on businesses, infrastructure, and the overall sense of security in Nigeria.

The renowned business mogul, philanthropist and socialite urged the protesters to embrace dialogue as a means to channel their grievances and bring about meaningful change. He maintained that by engaging in peaceful dialogue, the protesters can amplify their voices and advance their cause in a manner that is constructive and productive.

Chief Charles Ahize emphasized the importance of preserving public order and safeguarding the rule of law and therefore asked the protesters to exercise restraint and uphold the principles of justice and fairness so as to create an environment conducive to dialogue and negotiation, which are essential for addressing the root causes of the protests and finding sustainable solutions to the underlying issues.

He eulogised President Tinubu for addressing the protesters as the father of the nation and further called on the youths to accept the olive branch extended by President Tinubu and give room for dialogue.

In his nationwide address President Tinubu enjoined the the protesters and the organisers to suspend further protest and create room for dialogue as Nigeria requires all hands to be on deck, regardless of age, party, tribe, religion or other divides, to work together in reshaping our destiny as a nation.

President Tinubu revealed that his government will be distributing a million kits at extremely low or no cost to commercial vehicles that transport people and goods and who currently consume 80% of the imported PMS and AGO.

He futher revealed that his government has shown commitment to the youth by setting up the student loan scheme with over 45.6billion Naira already processed for payment to students and their respective institutions.

He called on the protesting youths to take advantage of the Consumer Credit Corporation with over N200billion which aims to help Nigerians acquire essential products without the need for immediate cash payments, making life easier for millions of households.
