Shocker As Police Reveal Autopsy Result Of Anambra Lady Beaten To Death For Picking Naira Notes Sprayed During Birthday Celebration At Hotel
The Anambra State Police Command clarified that Chinyere Awuda, whose body was found near an abandoned swimming pool at Cosmila Hotel, actually fell into the pool and drowned.
The police spokesman, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed this in a statement issued to journalists on Friday.
According to the statement, an autopsy was conducted on the deceased, and it confirmed that there were no signs of trauma on her body.
The autopsy report concluded that drowning was the cause of death.
Earlier claims suggested that Chinyere was beaten to death after allegedly picking naira notes that were being sprayed during a birthday celebration at the hotel.
However, the police investigation and the autopsy findings disproved these claims.
The statement mentioned that the celebrant of the birthday event was arrested for questioning during the police investigation. The police commissioner in Anambra State, Aderemi Adeoye, directed that the case file be forwarded to the Attorney-General for vetting and legal advice.
