SaharaReporters reported earlier that some underage #EndBadGovernance protesters detained by the Nigeria Police Force since August on Friday morning collapsed inside the courtroom of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The incident occurred when the minors were brought to court from various detention cells of the police force, including from the Intelligence Response Team unit.

Following the development, the court was thrown into confusion when the defendants who were mainly minors were asked to enter the dock.

The arraignment of the minors had sparked outrage with so many prominent Nigerians describing President Bola Tinubu’s administration as “wicked”.

Reacting to the development in a post on X handle, SERAP demanded that President Tinubu’s administration must promptly investigate the apparent ill-treatment of #EndBadGovernance protesters in prison and prosecute those responsible.

The non-governmental organisation also demanded that all charges against them should immediately be dropped.

SERAP wrote: “The Tinubu administration must promptly investigate the apparent ill-treatment of #EndBadGovernance protesters in prison and prosecute those responsible.

“The administration must immediately and unconditionally release those detained and drop all charges against them.”
