The controversy unfolded when Akpoti-Uduaghan, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), appeared in an interview on Arise TV, where she accused Akpabio of harassing her. Akpoti-Uduaghan suggested that the harassment was linked to her struggles within the Senate, which she claimed began after this incident. In response to the allegations, Akpabio’s media consultant, Kenny Okulogbo, has vehemently dismissed the accusations, calling them “tissues of lies.”
Speaking to The PUNCH, Okulogbo suggested that Akpoti-Uduaghan’s remarks were a reaction to her recent removal as chairperson of the Senate Committee on Local Content.
“All that Senator Natasha said are lies. She is just angry about losing her committee position,” Okulogbo remarked. He further indicated that Akpabio would soon issue an official response to address the matter more thoroughly.
The allegations have sparked a wider debate, drawing attention to the relationship dynamics within the Senate, especially as the leadership grapples with internal conflicts.
