Amb Timothy Nwachukwu, A good governance Advocate, Political Analyst and Media and Communication Aide of Hon. Gambo Manzo, The Special Assistant to The President on Political Affairs, Office of the Vice President while speaking to StandOut Africa Media in Abuja eulogised President Buhari for making the second Niger bridge Project a reality.

 

Amb Timothy Nwachukwu recalled that the 2nd Niger Bridge was officially started in 2014 by the President Goodluck Jonathan administration, however, President Buhari breathe life to the Project which was used by successive administration as a campaign tool by providing adequate and sustained funding which has today made the Project a reality.

 

Amb Timothy Nwachukwu stated that the second Niger bridge, which is handled by Julius Berger Nig Ltd, is 1.6km long and connects Anambra and Delta states, will reduce the gridlock and strain on the first Niger Bridge.

 

Amb Nwachukwu described the second Niger bridge as a legacy and unifying project which will open up the areas close to the Bridge, he further disclosed that the second Niger bridge Project which has gulped over N400 billion and scheduled for Commissioning by President Buhari in October 2022 has provided job opportunities to over 5,500 Nigerians, comprising of over 1500 staff and 4,000 indirect employment, such as the vendors, suppliers and others.

 

He urged the people of south east to remain resolute in their support to president Buhari while expressing hope that the southern rail guage which will link south east to the northern Nigeria will commence in no distant time.
