To complement his good governance- to cover all the areas of government agencies in the state- just to make sure his agenda of rehabilitation, reconstruction and recovery of Imo State from its decayed status, Governor Hope Uzodimma has meticulously looked around, chose and appointed Princess Christina Ude, as his Special Adviser on Sustainable Development Goals and Humanitarian Affairs.

Princess Christina Ude was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Orlu /Orsu /Oru East Federal Constituency in the 2019 general election.

Before her appointment, she was an experienced Economic Development Professional and SDGs Advocate, having served as Sustainable Development Goals Consultant to Nigeriaā€™s National Assembly, Abuja.

She was a graduate of University of Maryland Global Campus, USA, Director of Advocacy and Global Policy, Executive Director Reading Hamlets, the topnotch Administrator- excelled in locally and internationally policy formulations and implementation.

Today, I have not come to praise her, but to tell Imo people what her office stands for and how Ndi Imo will benefit from her office.

Many people are not yet aware what SDGS office, Imo State, does and the importance of utilizing every opportunity arising from the office for the purpose of human empowerment and poverty alleviation.

Truism, any government agency established by government of the day, cannot work or function effectively without appointing the right persons to be in charge of them, but with the appointment of Princess Christina Ude, her passion in creating a more equal, safe and sustainable world for all people, working across both the public and private spheres, especially working for and with young people, the poor and vulnerable in Imo state, is gradually yielding fruits today, as many Imo sons and daughters have benefited from numerous federal government empowerment programs as attracted by Imo state government through her office.

Interestingly, the SDGs Office, Imo State, covers this areas for the good of all Imo people, Sustainable Development Goals, Focal Person for the Nigerian Social Investment Programs in Imo State, Social Investment Programs including the Homegrown School Feeding Program, NPower, Conditional Cash Transfer and Government Enterprise Empowerment Program (GEEP). All these programs are all effective for the purpose of putting similes on the faces of Imo people to their empowerment policies.

These programs are specifically created to sustain the development goals advocacy, successful advocacy on behalf of nonprofit organizations, poverty alleviation, group facilitation work, project management work, leadership within a local advocacy organization, private sector experience in public policy research and education, Strategic and Operational Planning, Budgeting and Cost Management, Profitability and Cost Analysis, People Leadership, Risk Management, Technical and Strategic Marketing.

Princess Christina Ude, who has vast economic development experience was happy that the Governor of Imo State included her in his team that will help him achieve his 3R agenda of rehabilitation, reconstruction and recovery, for the betterment of Imo citizens.

Some of this programs are already going on in our LGAS, just recently, the office concluded the federal government conditional cash transfer of 20,000 to over 3000 Imo women in 9 local government areas of Imo State, but on my chart with her in her office recently, she revealed that federal government has decided to make the cash transfer to go round the 27th LGAs of Imo State.

The monitoring of how batch C Npower Imo State Beneficiaries are doing and rectifying those who have issues of deployment by her office, is on top of gear.

The registration exercise for GEEP 2.0 has commenced at the LGA Secretariats across lmo State. Community Orientation and Mobilisation Officers (COMOs) of National Orientation Agency have the mandate for the Sensitization and registrations ONLY of intending applicants in collaboration with GEEP desk Officers at the 27 LGAs.

The program which is a zero interest loan for artisans, enterprising youths, micro and small traders, poor women, widows, people living with disabilities and agricultural workers among others have the following programmeā€™s loan products Marketmoni, (N50,000) Tradermoni (N50,000) and Farmermoni (N300,000).

This only has shown you my readers, that her office is rich and full of human empowerment programs that will benefit Imo people at large.

Indeed, the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, is doing all he can to make Imo Better than he met it. Hence he brought in personalities like Princess Christiana Ude who is doing well to help him recover Imo from it lost glory.
