RULAAC seeks improved human rights protection in Nigeria

A non-governmental organization known as Rule of Law and Accountability Advocacy Center (RULAAC) has advocated for improved human rights protection in Nigeria.
The NGO also advocated for the protection of men of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) across the country.
The advocacy was contained in the communique issued at the end of the a one day retreat for stakeholders in the field of human rights across the country.
The NGO observed that citizens of Nigerians has limited access to justice and are hardly protected by security agencies.
It also observed that men of the Nigerian police are also highly vulnerable and are often times victims insurgencies and militancy in the country.
The stakeholders encouraged the media, the security agencies and the civil society organizations (CSO) to work together in the interest of improved security of the society.
For an egalitarian society, stakeholders in the field of human rights need to close ranks to fight against oppression and suppression occasioned by executive recklessness.
The stakeholders noted that the issue of criminal justice administration is critical of the economy of any nation. In any society where there is no genuine administration of justice, there cannot be economic stability
The one day retreat was chaired by Dr Theophilus Danjuma of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS)
