Rev. Fagbemi : Rep member media team tenders apology, says political jobbers and desperate politicians twisted Bishop’s counsel to Otunba Adelegbe
RE – RT. REVEREND STEPHEN FAGBEMI’S COUNSEL TO OTUNBA DR. TIMEHIN ADELEGBE.
The Adelegbe Media Team wishes to dissociate itself completely from a statement credited to one Mr. Ayo Awoniyi, where he had claimed that the Diocesan Bishop of St. Andrews Cathedral, Imola, Owo, Rt. Reverend Stephen Fagbemi ( PhD) did demand for some financial favour from Otunba Timehin Adelegbe.
To set the records straight, Mr. Ayo Awoniyi is not part of the Adelegbe Media Team, let alone speaking for the MHR or his media team in any capacity. He merely expressed a personal opinion that can best be described as mere imagination, being one that is far from the truth as the Lord Bishop never sought for any form of financial favour from Otunba Adelegbe as claimed.
Otunba Dr. Timehin Adelegbe is a member of the Anglican communion and he holds the office of the Lord Bishop in high esteem.
As a spiritual father to the lawmaker, the Lord Bishop is eminently capable of calling upon him to do more for his constituents and that need not be misconstrued as condemnation.
Rt. Reverend Stephen Fagbemi (PhD) is not a politician, let alone taking sides with anyone or any political party for any reason at all.
Those who twisted and amplified the Lord Bishop’s counsel to Otunba Dr. Timehin Adelegbe beyond imaginable proportion, deliberately did so for some selfish political reasons.
We are not unaware of the desperate moves being made by some politicians that are presently eyeing the lawmaker’s seat as they are hell bent on showing Otunba Adelegbe in a bad light with a view to demarketing him ahead of the next general election, but they have been proven wrong by evidences that abound in Owo/Ose Federal constituency.
It’s never a crime for one to be ambitious in life, but the way and manner we go about the pursuit and actualization of our dreams matters a lot.
It’s nothing, but desperation taken too far for some individuals to have had the intention of dragging the Lord Bishop into the arena of political conflicts for their personal benefits.
Conclusively, we wish to use this medium to tender our unreserved apology to our Lord Bishop, Rt. Reverend Stephen Fagbemi ( PhD) and the Anglican communion for every negative comment made against the Lord Bishop by our media team and some individuals during the period.
Hon. Olaniyi Eni-Olotu
