Education in Ideato Nation received a huge boost when the First Edition of the Ideato Federal Constituency Inter Secondary Schools Quiz Competition was rounded up on Tuesday 19th April, 2022 at St. Dominic Savio Comprehensive Secondary School, Ntueke. This event, the first of its kind in the history of education in Ideato Nation was sponsored by the Honorable Member representing Ideato North / Ideato South Federal constituency & Chairman House Committee on Health Institutions Hon. Dr Paschal Chigozie Obi “Ugwumsinachi”

The competition was open to all the secondary schools in Ideato Federal Constituency. More than thirty secondary schools participated in the Quiz Competition.
St. Kizito Secondary School Umuchima came third in the competition while Wisdom Gate College Akokwa and Queen of Holy Innocents College Urualla came second and first respectively.

In his special address to the students, the chairman of the occasion, High Chief Iyke Ibekwe (Anaegboiyi of Ideato Nation) encouraged them to be more serious and dedicated in their studies, assuring them that brilliant ones among them would always get assistance from kind hearted individuals.

Earlier in his address, the Principal Consultant, First Choice Education Consult, Nze Dr Modesty Vitus Ezenwa (Akwaa akwuru Umuobom) whose firm handled the competition narrated the hurdles and experiences the firm passed through in ensuring that secondary schools in Ideato Nation bought into the idea of the quiz competition. Apart from being its first time in the recent history, that students in Ideato Nation were provided with a platform for academic review and performances, the lessons garnered from the exercise would help in providing lasting solution to bedeviling challenges in education within the constituency

The sponsor of the event and the Honorable Member representing Ideato North / Ideato South Federal constituency, Hon. Dr. Paschal Chigozie Obi lauded the efforts of the organisers and promised to make the programme an annual event. He also directed that debate should be included so that the initiative would be known as Ideato Federal Constituency Inter Secondary Schools Quiz and Debate Competition. Ugwumsinachi promised to keep rewarding excellence, aiding schools and improving the lots of educational institutions in Ideato Nation.

The winning school, Queen of Holy Innocents College Urualla got a cash prize of 250,000 naira, a giant size photocopier, a generator, laptop and printer while the runner up school, Wisdom Gate College Akokwa received a cash prize of 150,000, generator, laptop and printer. St Kizito Secondary School, Umuchima came third and was rewarded with a cash prize of 100,000 naira, printer and a laptop.
Quiz masters of the schools were also given a sum of 100,000 naira.

Eminent personalities witnessed the event. HRH Eze Kyrian Chinedo, Eze Oha of Ntueke was the Royal Father of the Day. The Director General of Equity Foundation, Hon. Peter Ezeala, the Chairman of Ideato Patriots Forum, Hon. Ben Anugwara, Chief Joseph Obi, Chief Darlington Udoye ( Izuogu Kwuo), Chief Banklouis Adebionu, Equity Women, the leadership of NUT Ideato North and South, Representatives of the Ministry of Education, Principals and heads of schools in Ideato Federal Constituency, were all in attendance.
