The statement confirmed that Mustapha’s second term will commence on October 31, 2024.

The reappointment, formalized in a letter from the Secretary to the Government, George Akume, is in line with the regulations of the National Biotechnology Development Agency Act of 2022.

This move is seen as a demonstration of Tinubu’s trust in Mustapha’s leadership, particularly his efforts to advance innovation in biotechnology.

Mustapha, a professor of Bioinorganic Chemistry from Kano State, is expected to further Nigeria’s progress in pharmaceutical production and food security as part of the country’s push toward the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
