Police recover stolen car, arrest suspect in Edo
The Edo State Police Command on Wednesday arrested a 30-year-old man, Friday Bassey, for allegedly stealing a car.
The vehicle, a pickup van, was also recovered by operatives of the Command.
A statement from the spokesperson of the Command, Moses Yamu, said an intelligence-driven operation by the Aduwawa Police Division led to the arrest of Bassey and the recovery of a Hilux van with registration number EDO 757 EA.
The statement reads, “On 22/04/2025, in a painstaking, technical, intelligence-driven operation, operatives of the Aduwawa Divisional Police Station successfully recovered a white-coloured Toyota Hilux with registration number EDO 757 EA and arrested one Friday Bassey, 30 years old.
“The said vehicle was stolen on 14/04/2025 at about 05:50 hrs from where it was parked along Palace Road, Uteh, off Upper Mission Extension.
“While the investigation has commenced, the suspect has made useful statements that will assist the police.”
