SaharaReporters had in June reported that the officer allegedly killed Ibrahim in the Zamare area of Yauri Local Government Area of the state over his refusal to give a bribe demanded by the officer.

The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed the trigger-happy police inspector identified as Nura Ahmed, attached to the Yauri Division of Kebbi State Police Command, who shot a 20-year-old resident, Ahmed Ibrahim, over his refusal to give a bribe demanded by the officer.

The dismissal of the officer was confirmed on Friday by Ibrahim’s brother, Jabir Ibrahim, who said that a series of investigations by the relevant authorities confirmed that the officer intentionally killed Ibrahim.

SaharaReporters had in June reported that the officer allegedly killed Ibrahim in the Zamare area of Yauri Local Government Area of the state over his refusal to give a bribe demanded by the officer.

Demanding justice for the deceased, Jabir said, “The boy was very hard-working and respectful. He was a real hustler who was always struggling to make his life better but he was killed by a police officer.”

“I’m in severe pain, I am still finding it very difficult to accept the fact that this innocent boy was killed by a police officer.
“I’m the only person that can stand for this boy, he has no father, no mother, they’re all dead. He was an orphan who was struggling day and night to make his life better but he was killed just like that.

“Ahmed was just 20 years old. Our father died before he was born but look at what happened to him. We need justice, I can’t let it slide. He was unjustly killed by a police officer. We need justice, I can’t let it slide.”

Confirming the dismissal of the police officer on Friday, Jabir said the next line of action is for the Kebbi State government through the ministry of justice to vet the investigation files and forward the case to the Federal High Court for the next trial.

He said, “The killer police Inspector named Nura Ahmed who killed my brother has been dismissed from the service by the Nigeria Police Force and has been sent to prison.

“After a series of investigations by the relevant authorities, it has been confirmed that he intentionally killed my brother.

“The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states has dismissed the police inspector and sent him to magistrate court in Birnin Kebbi where the judge sent him to the kebbi state new prison.

“The next line of action is for the Kebbi state government through the ministry of justice to vet the investigation files and forward the case to the Federal High Court for the next trial.

“We will continue to follow this case till justice is served.

“Special thanks to Barrister Uche for all the services rendered.

“Special thanks to Nigerians for lending their voices in ensuring that justice is served.”
