Police arrest two for kidnapping, murdering 12-yr-old boy in Katsina
The Katsina State Police Command have arrested two suspects involved in the kidnapping and murder of a 12-year-old boy.
They also busted a four-man counterfeit currency syndicate.
Spokesperson Katsina Command, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, disclosed this at a press briefing on Wednesday.
He said the 12-year-old victim was kidnapped on January 11th while on an errand and subsequently murdered.
“The kidnappers demanded a ransom of ₦25 million but eventually killed the boy and abandoned his body,” DSP Sadiq said.
“Following a thorough investigation, the Anti-Kidnapping Unit arrested Muttaka Garba and Yusuf Usman, who confessed to the crime,” DSP Sadiq revealed.
“Despite efforts by the family to negotiate, the kidnappers refused to release the boy and eventually killed him. His lifeless body was later abandoned and found on the outskirts of Dankama town.”
In a separate incident, the police arrested four suspects and recovered 1,018 counterfeit notes from a syndicate of robbers.
