The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested three suspects linked to a criminal conspiracy, theft, and the receipt of stolen property.

In a press release issued on Thursday, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Ahmed Wakil, revealed that the suspects were apprehended by operatives from the Toro Divisional Police Headquarters following a reported theft in Tenti Babba Village, Bokko Local Government Area of Plateau State.

According to Wakil, the complainant, identified as Haruna Maguwa, reported on Monday that his Boxer motorcycle had been stolen from his residence.

“Acting on credible intelligence and leveraging community policing strategies, the Bauchi State Police Command launched an investigation, which led to the arrest of three suspects,” Wakil said.

The suspects, identified as Yakubu Aminu, Abdul Lawal, and Buhari Abdullahi, all residents of Magama Gumau Town, were found in possession of the stolen motorcycle. Police said the trio had intended to sell the motorcycle to an unsuspecting buyer.

Wakil further disclosed that during interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the crime.

“The recovered motorcycle has been returned to the owner, and the suspects will be charged in court upon the completion of investigations,” the police spokesperson added.

The Command reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of residents while urging the public to provide timely information that could aid crime prevention efforts.
