Police Arrest Herbalist Over Alleged Ritual Killing Of 11-Year-Old, Eye Removed
According to a press release issued by the Adamawa State Police Command on Sunday, the incident was reported to the authorities on April 13, 2025, by the Village Head of Kodomun and the victim’s mother, Fancy Alifas.
Atragic and chilling incident has rocked Kodomun village in Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa State, as police confirm the arrest of a local herbalist, Murtala Musa, in connection with the death and mutilation of an 11-year-old boy, Yangapwa David.
According to a press release issued by the Adamawa State Police Command on Sunday, the incident was reported to the authorities on April 13, 2025, by the Village Head of Kodomun and the victim’s mother, Fancy Alifas.
She alleged that her son, who had been taken to the herbalist for treatment, died while in his custody under suspicious circumstances.
In a shocking revelation, the grieving mother stated that arrangements were being made to transport her son’s body home. However, when she returned to retrieve the corpse from the herbalist’s room, she discovered that her son’s left eye had been removed.
Responding swiftly to the report, police operatives from the Demsa Division visited the scene and promptly arrested the suspect.
Speaking on the case, the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, assured the public that the Command is committed to ensuring justice is served.
“We will leave no stone unturned in our investigation. The suspect is in custody and the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) has been directed to carry out a discreet and thorough investigation,” he said.
The police urged members of the public to remain calm and promised transparency and diligence in uncovering the truth behind the incident.
