According to sources, the incident occurred on March 20, at about 3:20 p.m.

The students were said to have raided the school and shattered all the windows of its laboratory, which was under renovation.

They were also said to have broken the front and rear glass of a school staff member’s car. An engineer working on the renovation was allegedly injured in the attack.

However, with the assistance of the school authorities and security agencies, 57 students were arrested in connection with the vandalism.

The incident comes barely two weeks after six suspects were arrested in Niger state over a violent clash involving secondary school students.

The altercation occurred between students of Annur Islamic Model School, Chaichainiya, and youths from Zuma Bread in the same area of Suleja LGA.

The dispute began over girlfriends and escalated into an intra-community clash.

Over 20 youths, led by Umar Idris, an SSS 3 student, invaded the area with dangerous weapons, engaging in a fight. Gunshots were fired, hitting two minors, aged 10 and 11, who sustained thigh injuries.
