Police arrest 3 suspected kidnappers, kills one in Delta
The Delta state police command says it has neutralized a suspected kidnapper and arrested three of his gang members.
The police in a statement by his spokesperson Edafe Bright made available to newsmen, said the command acted on intelligence gathered over a period relating to the kidnap and killing of a man on 17th May 2024.
According to the police, the Delta police commissioner Olufemi Abaniwonda directed a special team led by ASP Julius Robinson who led his team to the hideout of the kidnap gang in Ughelli south and North, while engaging them in a gun duel which led to the killing of one of the suspects and three others arrested.
Items recovered from their hideout include one AK 47 rifle, while efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects with gunshot wounds.
