The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has made a clean sweep in the Zamfara State local government election, winning all 14 chairmanship seats and 147 councillor positions.

This victory was announced by Bala Aliyu, Chairman of the Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission (ZASIEC), on Sunday morning.

Addressing newsmen after the collation exercise in Gusau, the Commission’s chairman said that PDP candidates had emerged victorious across all LGAs, which include Gusau, Kaura-Namoda, Maru, Talata Mafara, and Anka.

Aliyu hailed the local government elections as free and fair, commending the collaborative efforts of security services, election authorities, and voters.

This endorsement was echoed by Wadatau Madawaki, the PDP’s delegate at the collation center, who expressed jubilation over the election results.

Madawaki viewed the outcome as a resounding affirmation of the PDP’s leadership and commitment to Zamfara State’s progress.

Madawaki also urged the newly elected local government chairmen to align with Governor Dauda Lawal’s Rescue initiative, emphasizing the need for collective effort to drive development in the state.
